The construction of the 12.5-kilometer road from Yakawada to Giwa by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, has brought relief to residents and is helping to reduce insecurity in the Giwa Local Government Area.
The District Head of Yakawada, Riwanu Yakawada, described the project as a blessing and a huge relief to the people of the area, who had suffered untold hardship because of the road’s deplorable condition.
According to him, past administrations had made several promises to fix the road, but all were in vain until the current government, under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership, began construction.
The road project, which was initially awarded to CERTIFIT, was eventually completed by FARMTRAC, a Nigerian indigenous construction company. Residents say the company has delivered quality work.
Similarly, at the newly constructed Rafin Kogi Store Bridge, residents expressed gratitude to the governor, saying that many lives had been lost due to the bridge’s poor condition and that bandits had taken advantage of the situation to carry out their nefarious activities. They said all that is now history.
One resident, Abubakar Ibrahim, said the bridge constructed by Farmtrac Construction Company is of standard quality. He said the people have nothing to do but offer prayers for the governor and reward him with their votes in the forthcoming 2027 election.

Similarly, the councilor representing Yakawada Ward in the local government, Hon. Hussain Bara’u, who was visibly delighted, said his people had not had it so good until the Uba Sani administration came to power.
Hon. Bara’u said the security challenges caused in the past by the condition of the road and bridge are now things of the past.
Speaking about the project, FARMTRAC’s supervising project manager disclosed that although the initial approval was for a double coat of asphalt, Governor Uba Sani later directed that asphalt be laid from start to finish—that is, from Giwa to Yakawada.

He said the company had received tremendous support from area residents, who had cooperated fully, providing help wherever needed and even bringing food for the workers every day.
“The people of this area have truly cooperated with us. Wherever we need support from them, they provide it. They even bring food for the workers every day. And they are very pleased. They are happy with how the work was done. They are pleased with the project His Excellency the Governor instructed to be done for them. They even told His Excellency the Governor to rest easy and not worry. In this upcoming election, by God’s grace, there will be no opposition in this town,” the Project Manager said.
He said that the project would be completed by Monday, God willing.
He added that, as a local Nigerian company with no foreigners among its staff, FARMTRAC had maintained a cordial relationship with the host community and had taken good care of that relationship, with no problems arising.
“The community also shows that if any issue could arise, they would treat the company as if it were their own,” he said.
