Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt after gunmen opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area, with police confirming the arrest of three suspects in connection with the incident.

The shooting occurred on Sunday evening, October 18, 2026, as the 36-year-old actor was leaving a football club in the upscale neighbourhood. The assailants reportedly arrived on a motorcycle and fired at his BMW before fleeing the scene.

Although Shroff escaped direct gunshot injuries, his driver and another man, identified in media reports as an autorickshaw driver, sustained gunshot wounds. The injured men were taken for medical attention.

Mumbai Police subsequently launched an investigation involving multiple teams to identify the attackers, trace their movements and establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The three suspects were arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, on Monday in a joint operation involving Mumbai Police and Rajasthan law enforcement officers. They were reportedly intercepted at a railway station while travelling on a train from Mumbai towards Delhi.

Police identified the arrested men as Rehan, 18, from Haryana; Hrithik Kumar, 22, originally from Bihar; and another 22-year-old suspect from Haryana. Authorities clarified that all three suspects were adults, correcting earlier reports that one of those arrested was a minor.

According to Mumbai Police, two of the suspects allegedly fired five to six rounds at the actor’s vehicle. Investigators also recovered the motorcycle believed to have been used in the attack, while efforts continued to establish the full sequence of events and determine who may have organised the shooting.

The police have registered an attempt-to-murder case and are investigating the suspects’ alleged roles. Their arrest does not establish guilt, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The incident has also drawn attention to reports linking the shooting to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Social media posts and an audio message attributed to individuals associated with the gang reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack and contained threats directed at people working with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

However, the motive for the shooting and the authenticity of the alleged gang connection had not been conclusively established by police as of Monday. Investigators are examining possible links and seeking to determine whether the attack was commissioned by other individuals.

The shooting has renewed concerns about security within Mumbai’s Hindi-language film industry, particularly given previous threats and attacks involving prominent Bollywood personalities.

Shroff, known for action films including the Baaghi franchise and War, has built a reputation for martial arts and action performances. His escape without gunshot injuries was a relief to fans, although the injuries sustained by the two other victims have added to concerns over the risks posed by the attack.

The case is expected to focus on identifying the alleged organisers, establishing the motive and determining whether the suspects acted independently or on instructions from a wider criminal network.

Police investigations are continuing, with the arrested suspects expected to face further questioning as authorities work to establish the full circumstances of the shooting.
