The presidential candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) for the 2027 general election, Hon. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, launched his bid for the presidency on Saturday, promising to create jobs for Nigerian youths.
Omoaje made the promise while flagging off his presidential campaign in Ede, Osun State.
The flag-off, held at Babanla Agate Ward, his home ward in Ede, was preceded by special prayers offered by Islamic scholars, Christian clerics, and traditionalists.
The ceremony was presided over by AA national leaders, including the party’s Osun State chairman, Kazeem Araoye. It was attended by top politicians, captains of industry, unionists, artisans, and traders from across the country.
Addressing supporters, the AA presidential candidate said youth employment would be a top priority of his administration, stressing that all Nigerian youths would be gainfully employed if he were elected.
He said his agenda for the country spans all sectors of the economy, adding that he is determined to end the economic crisis ravaging the nation and to abolish poverty.
Expressing optimism that he would win next year’s presidential election, Omoaje said his administration would focus on economic prosperity and the fight against corruption.
He noted that his government would be guided by the core values of his party, which center on promoting the welfare of the masses and abolishing poverty.
Omoaje also assured Nigerians that his administration would tackle insecurity and ensure that citizens could sleep with both eyes closed anywhere in the country.
He disclosed plans to reduce the number of ministers and political appointees and to appoint presidential liaison officers in all 774 local government areas to ensure grassroots inclusion in governance.
He further promised that all roads would be classified as federal roads to eliminate discrepancies in infrastructure development across the country.
The presidential candidate said the grand campaign rallies would soon be held across the six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as he solicited Nigerians’ support to become the next president.
