An Italian-born former Catholic priest, Father Sandro Ferretto, has married a Kenyan woman he reportedly met during his years of missionary service in Kenya.
Ferretto previously served as a Catholic parish priest in Kasiela and Mochongoi in Baringo County, where he was involved in missionary and pastoral activities within the local community.
It was during his time in the region that he met Sharon Jepng’ok, a Tugen woman and daughter of former councillor John Wendot.
According to reports, their relationship developed over time, eventually leading Ferretto to leave active Catholic ministry and pursue a new chapter of his life centred on love and family.
The former priest has now married Sharon in a colourful traditional ceremony held at Seretion Village in Kasiela, Baringo South.
The ceremony brought together family members, friends and members of the local community to celebrate the couple as they formally began their life together.
Ferretto’s decision to leave the priesthood and marry has attracted attention because of his previous role as a Catholic priest and his years of missionary service in the Kenyan community.
His time in Baringo reportedly made him a familiar figure among residents, making his return to the region for his traditional marriage particularly significant for members of the community.
The marriage marks a major change in Ferretto’s life after years dedicated to Catholic ministry and missionary work in Kenya and reflects his decision to pursue a different path focused on family life.
