Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, has ordered the country’s military commanders to update their target list to include American and Israeli assets, warning that any renewed attack on Iran would trigger an immediate response without geographical restrictions.
Khamenei issued the directive during a meeting with senior military commanders on Saturday, October 31, according to a statement published through his official communication channels and reported by Iranian state media.
“Any level or type of threat must be met with an immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response,” the statement said.
He also instructed the armed forces to update their military target database to include all types of tangible and intangible assets belonging to what he described as the “American-Zionist enemy”, bringing them within the reach of Iranian forces.
The meeting reportedly involved Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Ali Abdollahi, Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Ahmad Vahidi. It was the first publicly reported meeting between Khamenei and the country’s top military commanders since he became supreme leader in March.
The warning comes amid growing concerns about a possible resumption of hostilities following the November 3 US midterm elections. Reports have suggested that Washington is considering further military action against Iran, although US officials have indicated that President Donald Trump has not made a decision on additional strikes.
Khamenei warned that if Iran faced renewed military or terrorist attacks, the country’s armed forces and people would determine when and under what conditions the conflict would end.
The threat comes alongside diplomatic efforts to prevent another escalation. Iranian officials have been holding discussions with Qatari mediators, while Tehran has described recent diplomatic contacts with Washington as a potentially positive development.
The latest warning follows earlier tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel. TheDailyNewsHub previously reported on Khamenei’s warning to Israel over possible attacks and Tehran’s threat of a disproportionate response.
Although Khamenei’s directive signals an expansion of Iran’s stated military preparedness, it does not establish that new strikes have been ordered or that another military confrontation is imminent. The possibility of renewed attacks remains subject to political and diplomatic developments.
