President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima have arrived in Kaduna State for the formal launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.

Tinubu arrived on Saturday alongside First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, while Shettima and his wife, Nana Kashim Shettima, also travelled to the state for the campaign event.

The President was received at the airport by Shettima, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and other APC leaders, according to reports published on Saturday.

The campaign flag-off is taking place at Kaduna Township Stadium, where party supporters, political stakeholders and elected officials have gathered for the event.

The rally marks a major mobilisation effort by the ruling party as Tinubu seeks a second term in office.

APC Mobilises Supporters for 2027 Election

APC governors, ministers, members of the National Assembly, party officials and supporters from different parts of the country are expected to participate in the campaign launch.

The party is expected to use the event to present its Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0, outline its priorities for another term and highlight what it considers the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

The campaign comes amid national debates over economic reforms, the cost of living, insecurity, employment and infrastructure development. These issues are expected to feature prominently in discussions surrounding the 2027 election.

Security Tightened Across Kaduna

Security was strengthened across parts of Kaduna metropolis ahead of the President’s arrival, with personnel from several security agencies deployed to strategic locations and major roads leading to the campaign venue.

Reports indicated that restrictions along some major routes affected traffic, leaving motorists and commuters stranded in parts of the city.

The preparations formed part of efforts to manage the expected turnout and secure the presidential visit.

The Kaduna campaign launch signals the beginning of a broader effort by the APC to mobilise voters and consolidate its support base ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
