President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said Almighty Allah has granted his prayers for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians, following his recent spiritual visit to Saudi Arabia.
The President made the statement on Monday, November 2, 2026, while reflecting on his performance of the lesser Hajj (Umrah) and the opportunity to pray inside the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah.
Tinubu expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his delegation access to the sacred site.
Speaking about his prayers, the President said he had asked Allah for wisdom and resilience to continue serving the people, adding that he believed his request had been granted.
“Well, I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that prayer has been granted,” he said.
Tinubu recalled that he also performed Umrah before the 2023 presidential election, when he prayed for Allah’s blessings and promised to return to express his gratitude.
The President further reflected on the responsibility of leadership, referencing Surah Aal-Imran, Verse 26 of the Holy Qur’an, which speaks about Allah’s ultimate authority to grant and withdraw power.
He said political authority should be exercised responsibly, with humility and in the service of the people.
Reaffirming his commitment to Nigeria, Tinubu said his determination to develop the country and deliver prosperity had become stronger.
“My commitment to Project Nigeria is higher. I am determined to usher in prosperity and fully develop the country, consistent with the wish of Allah and the support of the people,” he stated.
On the economy, the President described its foundation as solid, expressing optimism that Nigeria had emerged from a difficult period. He also emphasised the need to invest in young Nigerians to secure the country’s future.
He urged Nigerians to put God first, follow their conscience and pursue the right path towards national development.
