The Ibori Suenu Grassroots Network (ISGN), alongside political leaders, traditional rulers, friends and supporters, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, on the occasion of his 68th birthday, describing him as “a mentor of generations” and an enduring icon of visionary leadership.
In a congratulatory statement signed by the National Chairman of ISGN, Chief Hon. Majemite Andrew; Vice Chairman, Barr. Jude Fregene; Director of Strategy and Administration, Prince Charles Abutoh; and Director of Media, Chief Henry Ofa, the group commended Ibori’s contributions to the development of Delta State and Nigeria.
According to the statement, Ibori’s life has been marked by God’s grace, integrity, humility and an unwavering commitment to public service.
It noted that his administration laid the foundation for modern development in Delta State through strategic investments in road infrastructure, bridges, education, healthcare, agriculture and public sector reforms.
The group highlighted several landmark projects executed during his tenure, including the Bomadi, Omadina, Igbuku-Ase and Olomu bridges, as well as the establishment of three state polytechnics and the College of Education, Mosogar.
It noted that the institutions were strategically located across the state’s three senatorial districts to promote equitable access to higher education.
ISGN also praised Ibori’s enduring legacy of leadership development, pointing out that every governor who succeeded him had previously served in his administration, while the incumbent governor was also a member of his cabinet.
“This reflects his exceptional ability to identify, mentor and prepare future leaders for greater responsibilities while fostering unity and continuity in governance,” the statement said.
The network further applauded the former governor’s continued commitment to education through the OTEMU Education Foundation, youth empowerment, peacebuilding and national development, describing him as a bridge-builder whose influence continues to inspire generations.
Praying for God’s continued blessings upon the former governor, the group wished him good health, renewed strength, wisdom and many more years of impactful service.
“Happy 68th Birthday, Your Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori. Happy Birthday, Odidigboigbo,” the statement concluded.
