Nigerian Afrobeats star Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has made a strong debut on the Billboard World Albums chart, with her latest album, Starrgirl, entering at No. 4 less than two weeks after its release.
The achievement was recorded on the Billboard World Albums chart for the week of August 29, 2026.
Ayra Starr’s third studio album sits behind three K-pop releases, with Stray Kids’ This & That retaining the No. 1 position. CORTIS’ GREEN GREEN and ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part.5 occupy the second and third positions, respectively.
South African singer Tyla’s APOP* completes the top five.
Released on August 14 through Mavin Records and Republic Records, Starrgirl is Ayra Starr’s third studio album, following 19 & Dangerous, released in 2021, and The Year I Turned 21, released in 2024.
The 16-track project features a mix of Nigerian and international stars, including Wizkid, Rema, Zayn, Leon Thomas, kwn, Danny Ocean and Theodora.
Starrgirl has also recorded notable performances across international music charts and streaming platforms since its release.
The album reached No. 8 on the UK R&B Albums chart and No. 27 on the UK Album Downloads chart, while also peaking at No. 100 on France’s SNEP Albums chart.
In Nigeria, the album topped Spotify’s album chart and secured multiple No. 1 positions on Apple Music in several countries.
The Billboard World Albums chart ranks the top-selling world music albums in the United States based on sales.
