Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy is set to take centre stage in Paris next month after being announced as the headline performer for the halftime show at the 2026 NFL Paris Game.
The National Football League announced on Thursday, September 17, that the Afrofusion star will perform during the league’s first-ever regular-season game in France.
The game will feature the Pittsburgh Steelers against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, October 25, at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Central European Summer Time (9:30 a.m. ET). The fixture will be the first regular-season NFL game played on French soil.
Burna Boy’s performance will form part of the NFL’s expanded international programme for the 2026 season, which includes seven halftime shows across international games in seven countries and four continents.
The Paris appearance will also bring Burna Boy back to a venue where he made history in 2025.
In April 2025, he became the first African artist to headline a solo concert at the Stade de France. The upcoming NFL performance will therefore mark another major appearance at the same stadium.
In a statement released by the NFL, Burna Boy said returning to the stadium for an occasion involving the NFL was particularly significant to him and described the performance as an opportunity to represent African music before an international audience.
The NFL said Burna Boy’s international profile and connection with Paris were among the factors behind the choice.
Tim Tubito, the league’s senior director of global game presentation, music and entertainment, said the first NFL game in France called for a major halftime performance and pointed to the strong presence of African music in Paris.
The NFL described Burna Boy as one of the leading figures in African music globally. He has received 13 Grammy nominations and became the first African artist to perform on the main Grammy Awards telecast.
The Paris announcement comes as the NFL expands its presence outside the United States.
The 2026 international schedule includes games in London, Madrid, Melbourne, Mexico City, Munich, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. The league says the 2026 season features its largest international programme to date.
Other artists announced for international NFL halftime shows include Ayra Starr for the London game, Cage The Elephant for Munich, The Warning for Mexico City, and Pedro Sampaio and Ricky Martin for the Rio de Janeiro game.
Burna Boy’s full halftime performance will be broadcast live in France on France Télévisions and beIN Sports, while L’Équipe will broadcast the game later that evening.
For Burna Boy, the October performance represents another major international stage — this time combining one of the world’s biggest sporting leagues with his growing global music profile.
