Burnley have announced the signing of experienced forward Jamie Vardy on a contract that will run until the end of the current season.
The 39-year-old striker joins the Clarets after spending last season in Serie A with Cremonese, bringing considerable experience and a proven goalscoring record to Turf Moor.
Vardy is renowned for his explosive pace, clinical finishing and relentless work ethic, qualities Burnley will hope can make a difference during the campaign.
Burnley Head Coach Nicky Hayen welcomed the arrival of the veteran forward, highlighting his experience and leadership as key additions to the squad.
“We are delighted to welcome Jamie to Burnley FC. His experience and leadership will be invaluable to our squad, and we believe he can make a significant impact on our campaign,” Hayen said.
“Jamie has a proven track record, and we are looking forward to seeing him in a Claret shirt.”
Vardy, meanwhile, expressed his excitement at beginning a new chapter with Burnley and praised the club’s history and passionate supporters.
“I’m really happy to now be here at Burnley FC,” Vardy said.
“This club has a proper footballing history and passionate fans who deserve a team that represents them and their town.”
The former Premier League striker added that he was eager to get onto the pitch and contribute to Burnley’s campaign.
“I can’t wait to get going on the pitch and help the team move in the right direction.”
