Nigerian social media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has reportedly lost her second son, Bryan, while she remains in custody in Lagos over an ongoing alleged property-fraud case.

The development was made public on Friday by Amira Agiye, Chief Executive Officer of the Isaamira Love Foundation, who appealed for public support on behalf of the detained influencer. Agiye said Blessing CEO had authorised her to make the appeal.

In a voice recording played during the appeal, Blessing CEO confirmed the death of her son and expressed her desire to leave custody so she could attend to the bereavement and pay her respects.

“My second son, Bryan, was full of life. While in custody, I lost Bryan,” she said in the recording, according to reports.

Agiye said Blessing CEO requires ₦20 million to meet the conditions attached to her bail, while another ₦36 million was being sought to address financial obligations connected to the case. She appealed to members of the public to show compassion despite differing views about Blessing CEO and the allegations against her.

Blessing CEO has been in custody following her arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged ₦69.15 million property fraud case.

The EFCC alleges that she obtained ₦69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited in March 2025 by allegedly representing herself as the owner of a property in Lekki and securing payment for a five-year lease. Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In July, the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja granted her bail in the sum of ₦20 million with two sureties in the same amount. The court also required each surety to provide a three-year bank statement or evidence of a fixed deposit worth at least ₦20 million, among other conditions.

Reports indicate that she has remained at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after failing to fulfil the bail requirements.

The reported death of her son has added a personal tragedy to the legal difficulties surrounding her continued detention.

Agiye urged Nigerians to set aside disagreements surrounding Blessing CEO and support her as she deals with the loss. She said the child remained in a mortuary and appealed for assistance to enable Blessing CEO to address both her bail situation and the bereavement.

Reports have varied on the circumstances surrounding Bryan’s death. While some reports have cited an asthma attack, the audio recording and other reports reviewed for this story do not independently establish the cause of death.

Blessing CEO’s legal case remains pending, and the allegations against her have not been established by a court. Her next hearing in the ₦69.15 million case is scheduled for October 12, 2026.
